Realme sold 6.3 million smartphones in India during festive sale

Realme on Wednesday said that it witnessed a 20% increase in smartphone sales during this festive season in India. The company said that it sold more than 6.3 million smartphones in India this festive season.

The company also claimed that it sold more than 8.3 million smart home devices to customers in India this festive season. In addition to these, Realme revealed that it sold over 1,90,000 units of the Realme smart TV, over 3,50,000 units of smart wearables and over 1.25 million units of audio products during the Realme Festive Days sale. To recall, the Realme Festive Days sale began on October 16 and it went on until October 21.

The company also revealed that it sold more than 1.35 million units of the Narzo series smartphone, over 1.2 million units of the Realme C11 and over 1.7 million units of the Realme 7 series smartphone during its festive sale.

Realme, which ranks fourth in the Indian smartphone market, also said that it has become the fastest brand globally to reach 50 million sales, of which 30 million units were sold in India.

“We are overwhelmed to see the adoption of Realme products at such a fast pace. Realme offers the most blockbuster products which are high on features, style, and performance and is available across price segments,” Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth said on the occasion.

As per a report by Counterpoint Research, Realme had a 15% market share in India in the September quarter, which helped the company hold the fourth spot in terms of the smartphone market in India. Samsung, on the other hand, led the charts with a 24% share. It was followed by Xiaomi with a 23% share and Vivo with a 16% share during the same time, PTI report.

As far as smartphone sales in India are concerned, smartphone shipments grew 9% year-on-year, reaching over 53 million units in the third quarter of the year. This is the highest smartphone shipment recorded in India in a quarter so far, the report noted.
