Free Anti Virus programmes don't offer complete protection. It's time to shell out some cash and install a paid one Acer Aspire X3900.

My computer restarts itself while I am working on it, and it has happened many times. A few times, it happened while I was playing games, even though my games are compatible with my PC. I have scanned my PC with an updated version of McAfee Anti Virus and anti-spyware, and no viruses were detected (except for a few cookies, which were deleted by the anti-virus itself). I even formatted the drive in which Windows (XP) is installed, but the problem still persists. What should I do now? Please help.

Though this problem can occur because of a number of reasons, the biggest culprit in most such cases is the Power Supply Unit. Chances are that it's not powerful enough to power your PC's needs during high performance usage like playing games.

My desktop has a P4 512 GHZ with 256 MB worth of RAM. Recently it started rebooting on its own, and this has happened several times now. I updated my AVG Anti Virus and it began soon after. I am confused. What should I do?

You should look at getting a commercial Anti Virus, instead of relying on the free ones. If you're prone to malware attacks then spending a bit on a reputable Anti Virus like Norton or Kaspersky is a must. The reboots could also be due to a hardware issue. Your system configuration seems a bit old, so consider getting it completely serviced from your PC hardware supplier.

I would like to buy a desktop computer for gaming. My budget is 25,000. Can you suggest an appropriate configuration? Thank you.

If you're that enthusiastic about playing games, you should consider getting a gaming console instead. Not only do they have a bigger library of games these days, but you'll also get a much better performance than what you'd get from a 25,000-gaming PC.

I am planning to buy a laptop. My requirements include basic stuff like the Internet and MS office. Which laptop is sufficient for my needs? Should I go in for Intel's Atom or Core i3 processor? Is there a huge difference between the two?
Ojas Vora
If that's all you need from a laptop then you don't really need a configuration recommendation, since just about any configuration will give you the same amount of performance in this case. Look at going for reputable brands instead and the best offers and bundles that you're getting with your laptop. Think about getting a netbook instead. They're cheaper, more compact and are perfect for simple requirements such as yours.
