Review: Mivi SAXO, Infinix Quiet X Bluetooth headphones

There are a variety of options if you're looking for Bluetooth headphones under ₹10,000. If your budget is lesser than that, say under ₹7,000, the options start to run dry. For instance, JBL E45BT is a good value-for-money headphone, delivering balanced audio and comfortable design.

Today, we will be taking a look at two new budget Bluetooth headphones, Mivi SAXO and Infinix Quiet X. The two headphones are priced at ₹2,999 (MRP 4,999)  and ₹6,999, and come with similar functionalities but different specifications and quality at their targeted price points.

Mivi SAXO is one of the rare under ₹5,000 Bluetooth headphones that scores high on sound quality and design that is comfortable.

Unlike several Bluetooth headphones, it feels quite featherweight and is quite comfortable for longer sessions of listening. It looks quite compact with its (adjustable) headband easily fitting on the head. There's a bit of padding on the headband that adds to the comfort.

Coming to the sound quality, Mivi SAXO is quite impressive. Over the last two weeks, I used the headphones with various smartphones, including the OnePlus 5T, Google Pixel 2 XL and LG V30+. The headphones deliver a good punch for songs across genres. Songs such as The Knife's Silent Shout and No Church in the Wild don't blow your mind away, but there's a fair bit of balance in terms of clarity and notes.

Mivi claims that SAXO delivers up to 17 hours of back up at 70% volume. I found that claim to be true to a large extent. I could draw up to 14-15 hours of playback on varied volume configurations and standby modes. Overall, Mivi SAXO is a pretty decent choice for a Bluetooth headphone under ₹5,000.

Infinix Quiet X, on the other hand, goes for a more premium value with a price tag of ₹6,999. In comparison with Mivi SAXO, Infinix Quite X has a superior design with right amount of padding on headband and earcups. The headphones don't cause any irritation even after long sessions of audio streaming, but I would have preferred a bit of bigger headband, just to put around on my neck for times when I am not listening to music.

Infinix Quiet X scores high when it comes to noise cancellation. It does a fine job at reproducing the spectrum for bass heavy tracks. If you're into hip hop or bass heavy songs, Quiet X will not disappoint you. There's a fair amount of depth when it comes vocal-driven songs and decent punch and clarity. As far as the battery life goes, I could draw somewhere between 10-12 hours of audio playback before connecting the 3.5mm cable that comes bundled with it.
