Richard Branson to beat Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos with Virgin Galactic Unity 22 space flight, gets these reactions from both

Virgin Galactic Unity 22 space flight: Billionaires Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos and Elon Musk have been in a race against each other to be the first to go on a space flight strapped in their own spaceships. Branson is about to win the race with his Virgin Galactic Unity 22 flight and Bezos took to Instagram to comment on it while Musk took to Twitter. All three men are super-rich, billionaires to be exact, and Bezos is actually the richest man in the world. Competing with both Branson and Bezos was a third billionaire, SpaceX and Tesla chief Elon Musk - he is the most eccentric of the three with Branson just behind him. They will all make it into space, but the intention behind this space odyssey is to start a tourist industry built around space flight - they will give the common man, those who can afford it, a chance to see the Earth from space.

Jeff Bezos Instagram post: Now, with Richard Branson set to shoot up into the sky with his team in just hours, Bezos posted this on Instagram, "@richardbranson wishing you and the whole team a successful and safe flight tomorrow. Best of luck!" Considering it was Instagram, it had to be accompanied by a striking photo and this was of a widely grinning Branson.

Richard Branson Space Flight: Branson founded the Virgin Group and over the years, he started and exited many businesses, including an airline. Now, Branson is set to fly into space on his SpaceShipTwo Unity 22 rocket plane.

Space flight explained: Branson is expected to rocket to an altitude of around 88 km before engines are shut off. It will not assume a downward course immediately. There will be a 5 minutes' worth of glide. Considering the height, they will get a feel of being weightless and of course, since there are windows, they will be able to look down on Earth and see its curvature.

How it will happen? Branson and team will be powered into the sky by a rocket and a mother ship. At a certain altitude (50,000 ft) the rocket will separate from it and fall back to earth even as the ship's own engines are ignited and it powers on at Mach 3 speed.

Who is part of team? There is an Indian connection here. Branson will be accompanied by Sirisha Bandla, vice-president of government affairs and research operations. Then there will be Dave Mackay, chief pilot, Michael Masucci, pilot, Colin Bennett, lead operations engineer, and Beth Moses, chief astronaut instructor.

Branson's space flight has come just 9 days before that of Bezos, who will be rocketting into the skies along with his brother.
