SBI online: Alert! Your services set to be impacted; Internet banking, YONO, YONO Lite to be affected

SBI online services, including Internet banking, YONO, YONO Lite and UPI will be down. SBI account holders have been alerted that they will not be able to carry out any financial transaction during that period.

SBI online services will be down for a certain period of time, it has been revealed on social media by the state lender. The State Bank of India has alerted its account holders that its online services will not be available to them for a certain period of time and they should not try to use the same during this period. SBI is the largest bank in India and therefore, the impact will be on lakhs of account holders. SBI online services to be affected are Internet banking, YONO app, YONO Lite app and UPI. While the timing has been restricted to the late hours, account holders will still need to be careful and ensure they complete all their banking requirements on that day before they are made unavailable so that they do not fall foul of any emergency.

In a tweet today, SBI online said, "We will be undertaking maintenance activities betwween 22:45 hrs on 10-7-2021 and 00:15 hrs on 11-7-2021. During this period Internet banking/YONO/YONO Lite /UPI will be unavailable. We regret the inconvenience caused and request you to bear with us."

Why SBI Online services will be down

In the tweet, SBI gave a hint of why the online services would be unavailable. It said, "We request our esteemed customers to bear with us as we strive to provide a better banking experience."

SBI online digital agenda

SBI online services have been ramped up increasingly, especially after the coronavirus pandemic forced everyone indoors and cash became a not very preferable option to conduct financial transactions as it could further promote spread of the virus.

In another tweet, SBI said, "Serving the nation by digitalizing payments with revolutionary products & services. Let's always choose to make digital payments for its many benefits to build an Aatmanirbhar Bharat."

To further promote digital banking, SBI online also provides banking services in its contactless mode to its account holders through a simple call on two toll free numbers - 1800 112 211 or 1800 425 3800. The services available under this include current balance check and last five transactions made.
