ShareChat signs global music licensing deal with Times Music

ShareChat on Thursday announced it has entered into an agreement with Times Music to expand its music catalogue for users. The partnership with Times Music will bring Punjabi Music catalogue of Speed Records to ShareChat as well as Moj.

Speed Records is said to have the largest market share in Punjabi music and has some of the top hits such as ‘Lamberghini’,’ Mann Bharrya’ and many more. Apart from Punjabi Music, ShareChat and Moj users will also get Times Music’s content across Bollywood, Spiritual, Indie, Pop, Rock & other non-film music genres.

ShareChat had recently entered into a similar music deal with Saregama. Like the Times Music partnership, ShareChat and Moj users now have access to Saregama’s catalogue that includes songs in diverse Indian languages like Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Punjabi, Gujarati, and Bhojpuri amongst many others.

ShareChat is one of the fastest-growing Indian internet companies in the country. The company has over 240 million users on ShareChat and Moj.

Separately, ShareChat has expanded ESOP (employee stock options) pool by $14 million to $35 million to reward its employees. It also announced a 50% bonus for the existing employees holding ESOPs in the company.
