In a bit to make logging in more secure, Snapchat has introduced two-factor authentication to both its Android and iOS app.

The feature that has been rolled out with the latest update requires one to enter a six-digit code while signing in from a device that hasn't been used before. The code is sent by Snapchat to the number linked to the account, reported The Verge.

The two-step authentication can be switched on inside the settings menu. Once the function has been set up, users can also store a recovery code, which could be used to retrieve the account if the phone linked to the account is lost or damaged.
