Spotify to host virtual concerts featuring The Black Keys, Leon Bridges and more

Virtual concerts took off last year due to the pandemic, and various popular artists have held successful concerts online. Taking things up a notch, Spotify has announced it will hose virtual concerts starting May 27 on its platform. Spotify will livestream concerts from five artists and bands including The Black Keys, Rag’n’Bone Man, Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff, Leon Bridges and girl in red. The concerts will take place for 40-75 minutes, and will be ticketed.

These concerts won’t exactly be “live” as they will be pre recorded livestreams. The streaming service plans to integrate concerts better into their platform so it’s easier for fans to find their favourite artists and events. Each concert is priced at ₹179, and the tickets can be purchased through this website. There are also four different timings of the concerts for different regions.

Spotify’s virtual concert series kicks off on May 27 with The Black Keys performing from the Blue Front Café in Mississippi. On June 3, Rag’n’Bone Man will play from the Roundhouse in London. The third concert will be of Bleachers’ Jack Antonoff on June 10 who has a city bus tour planned from Brooklyn, NY, to Asbury Park, NJ. Leon Bridges has a concert planned on June 17 at the Gold-Diggers Hotel where he prepared his upcoming album, Gold-Diggers Sound that’s slated to be released in July. The last concert is scheduled for June 24, and it will feature a performance in Oslo by girl in red. The concert will also include unique lights and video filters.

Spotify will alert users about these performances through app notifications. These alerts will only go to those users who are fans of these artists. Also, the concert tickets can be purchased by both Spotify premium and free users.
