Tinder brings ‘Face to Face’ video chatting to several countries after testing for months

Tinder has finally opened its video calling feature for several new countries after testing it in several US states since May this year. The ‘Face to Face’ video chatting aims to let users find a partner during the time of pandemic when it’s not ideal to meet others, all without leaving the app. Video calling feature will be available for two users only after they have matched and have opted for it. All you need to do is to tap on the video icon. Once your potential partner does the same, the video call will begin. It is also possible to toggle off the video at any point during the chat.

The dating service will also ask for your opinion and let you send a report after the call ends.

The move not only adheres to the pandemic situation but also can act as a mid-way between text chats and directly meeting in person. However, since Tinder is not involved in your calls, it won’t be able to prevent any harassment that happens during the call.

Face to Face service is said to be rolling out to rest of the US, UK, Brazil, Australia, Spain, Italy, France, Vietnam, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Peru and Chile.

Meanwhile Facebook is also ramping up on this front. The social media giant a few days ago rolled out its Facebook Dating service in Europe. Facebook Dating is an opt-in service that lets members of the social network find romantic partners, though, crucially, the feature won’t match individuals with their existing friends, said a Bloomberg report.
