WhatsApp is constantly updating its platform by adding new features and improving existing ones. Reports keep detailing the WhatsApp features that it is working on and are likely to be rolled out in the app soon. For instance, recently we got to know that WhatsApp is working on Universal Windows Platform or UWP. This is essentially a new app for Windows PCs that will not only enable users to use all the features in WhatsApp’s existing Desktop app but also a lot of other features like the ones that will enable them to draw natively on WhatsApp and then share as an image on the platform. New Group Icon

WhatsApp has released the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.24.3 update. In this update, the company has made a tiny yet interesting update to the group icon feature. As of now, the default group icon includes three people. Now, the company has changed it to two people. While this might seem like an insignificant change, WABetaInfo reports that this could be a step towards developing Communities. The blog site reports that WhatsApp could use the old group icon for Communities keeping the new one for groups under it.

Bigger Stickers

WhatsApp has released WhatsApp Desktop beta 2.2146.4 update. This update makes the stickers on users’ PC screens look bigger. While this might not look like much, it will make the stickers on WhatsApp’s Desktop app look proportionate as per the screen size, which in turn will contribute to the overall aesthetics of the messaging app.

macOS Catalyst app

WhatsApp is said to be working on a special app for Apple’s iPad. Now WABetaInfo reports that WhatsApp is working on a new app to release on macOS’s Catalyst project. For the uninitiated, Apple’s Catalyst project enables developers to develop a single app that can be used on iPhones, iPads and Mac with some minor changes to accommodate the UI changes. Now, word is that WhatsApp is attempting to do the same. Reports also suggest that this new app with support multi-device functionality and that WhatsApp is likely to release the iPad app first with an app for macOS launching at a later date.

Pause and Resume voice recordings

WhatsApp has rolled out WhatsApp beta for iOS 2.21.230.16 update. This update brings the ability to pause and resume voice recordings. The new pause/resume button will appear in the middle of the Delete and Send buttons when they record a voice note in WhatsApp. The blog site says, “When you tap the pause icon, you will be able to resume recording the voice note again by pressing the new recording icon, so you don’t need to record a new voice note.”

Unknown Business Accounts

WhatsApp, in its WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.24.5, has released a feature that notifies users when unknown business accounts contact them. This new feature shows a message at the bottom of the chat informing users that the business account is not saved in their contact list. Users can then either add the business to their contact list or block them.
