Truecaller gets a redesign: Here are the new features

Truealler has been revamped. The company has released a complete redesign of its app for both Android and iOS users today. The new version allows Truecaller to streamline call history, SMS and instant messages into a single tab. There is also a new Home Screen and a full-screen caller ID. 

Home Tab

The new Home Tab brings all messages and calls under one list. Users will be able to see their latest activity under the Home Tab and can also start conversations, make a voice call, VoIP call, chat, text etc with a single click.

Full-screen caller ID

Truecaller has removed the pop-up caller ID and has replaced it with a full-screen one. The full-screen feature also comes with all the on-screen buttons you can see on your phone’s calling interface. 

The new caller ID also showcases colours to identify what type of call it is - calls from contacts and unknown numbers show up in blue, priority calls from businesses and delivery services will show up in purple, red is for spammers and gold for users who have upgraded Gold accounts.

Smart SMS and Insights

The Smart SMS on Truecaller uses advanced, on-device machine learning to automatically sort messages into four distinct groups: Personal, Important, Others and Spam.

All financial and payment notifications go under the Important tab. You can choose to pay a transactional SMS straight from the app, or have Truecaller remind you later.

Truecaller is going to include travel reminders like flight delays, bus seat allocations, live tracking and updates on postal/courier deliveries, tax updates and hospital/doctor appointments via future updates.

This feature is for Android users and will come to India first. All of these messages will remain on your device as will all the transactional information.
