Looks like Twitter is borrowing one of the most common features present in Facebook and LinkedIn desktop websites – Message pop up window. Yes, the microblogging website will now be showing a pop-up window on the right side of the screen that will have all your direct messages. Until now, users would have to open the window separately, type the reply and head back to the timeline. Now, with pop-up window on the side, same can be done without leaving the current page. Twitter confirmed this move in a post and HT Tech was also able to use the feature.
In case someone sends you a message, the pop-up window bar shows an orange dot notification, opening it will show the active sender’s message on top, to which you can reply easily. You have the same options to send media, GIF or an emoji alongside text.
Like we said above, this feature is only rolling out for the web. It is still being rolled out to users.
However, Twitter is more in headlines for a different news since last night. The microblogging website witnessed a massive hack wherein most of the popular and verified Twitter accounts posted a Bitcoin scam. The post included the online address where users can send Bitcoins and get it back doubled. However, Twitter soon enough disabled tweeting by verified accounts for hours before addressing the issue.
The firm has still not given an official statement on the matter and why it happened. Some of the accounts that were hacked were of Jeff Bezos, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Bill Gates, Elon Musk, Warren Buffet, Uber and more.
