Twitter is set to make a new change to its platform under which it is going to rename the retweets with comments as ‘quotes’. Twitter has also confirmed the renaming is coming soon for all users.
Soon, Twitter users will see three sections at the bottom of their tweets – retweets, likes, and quotes.
“A few months ago, we’ve made Retweets with Comments more visible when you tap to see Retweets on a Tweet,” a Twitter spokesperson told The Verge.
“This is available to everyone. Now, we’re testing making Retweets with Comments accessible directly on the Tweet and new language (Quotes) to see if this makes them easier to access and more understandable.”
Twitter has been making efforts to increase engagement on its platform as well as help users better track their tweets’ reach and overall engagement.
Earlier this year, Twitter introduced retweets with a comments section to help users see who retweeted their tweets with an additional comment. Some of the recent features include audio posts and the ability to schedule tweets from the desktop.
There’s also a new “Show more recommendations” option under the ‘Discover new lists’ section where users can browse through lists that might interest them.
