Koo, a new social microblogging app, seems to be grabbing headlines these days. It is not just being claimed as the Indian version of Twitter but has also become a new tool of conversation for government ministries and ministers. The focus on the app comes soon after Twitter failed to respond to Indian government’s notice last week. As a part of the notice, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY) asked Twitter India to block 257 tweets and accounts related to farmer protests.
So, with growing popularity, it is only natural to be a part of the platform. And that’s why we have listed some easy steps on how you can join and create an account on Koo app.
It’s worth mentioning that Koo is available on both Android and iOS and can be downloaded from their respective Google Play and App Stores.
On Android and iOS:
Step 1: Once installed, open the app.
Step 2: On the ‘Select Language’ screen, choose your preferred language.
Step 3: In the next screen you need to give your phone number. Koo will then send you a verification code as a text message.
Step 4: Feed the code and move to the next screen.
Step 5: You can then tap on the profile account from the top left corner.
Step 6: It will open your account. From there you can put the profile image, bio, username and more.
Step 7: That’s it. You can start posting short messages.
We had an exclusive chat with the founder and CEO of Koo, Aprameya Radhakrishna. Read what he has to say about this new platform.
