The screenshots shared by the blog site show that users will get the option to link within the WhatsApp Web section of their mobile apps. When they tap on the ‘Link a Device’ option, WhatsApp will show them a prompt that will ask them if they want to join WhatsApp's Web beta program. “Join the new WhatsApp Web Beta, which no longer requires that you keep your phone connected,” the message in the prompt says. This means that once they join the WhatsApp Web Beta program, they will be able to use the multi-device support feature on their laptops.

In a subsequent screenshot, WhatsApp informs users that soon they will get access to features such as archiving and muting chats from a companion device, deleting messages and chats from a companion app and calling from WhatsApp on desktop.

In addition to this, the report says that WhatsApp has started rolling out its updated Terms of Service (ToS) to select users. The updated ToS will come into effect on February 8, 2021. Another screenshot shared by the blog site shows the key changes, which includes how WhatsApp processes users’ data, how businesses can use Facebook hosted services to store and manage their WhatsApp chats and how WhatsApp partners with Facebook to offer integrations across the Facebook Company Products.
