WhatsApp recently introduced a new sticker pack on its platform to highlight the environmental challenges that we are facing. Now, word is that the company is working on two new features for its Android-based app that is aimed at making chats easier.
The first feature that is in the works is called ‘New Chat Shortcuts UI’. According to a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working to redesign the chat shortcuts in the “Business Info” section of its WhatsApp Business for Android app. As of now, the Business Info section shows the phone of the business that is stacked towards the left followed by the options to drop a message and make audio and video calls stacked towards the right.
When the company rolls out the updated UI, business users will get four options -- Message, Voice Call, Catalog, and Forward -- that are placed in the middle of the screen. The blog site says that this feature is still under development and there is no word on when this feature will be available in the app.
Next is the animated header features. The blog site reports that WhatsApp has started rolling out a redesigned header for disappearing messages to select beta testers. The Facebook-owned messaging app has introduced an animation for the image added in the header that gives users a better idea as to how its disappearing messages feature would work. Though this is a minor tweak, it will help users in understanding the feature better. This feature is expected to be available with other beta users soon.
