WhatsApp new feature: Messages that disappear after 90 days

WhatsApp is expanding its feature that it rolled out to the sable app back in late 2020. It allowed users to send messages that disappear after seven days. Now, the company is testing a new feature that would allow users to send messages that disappear after 90 days. To recall, the company recently rolled out its View Once feature as well.

According to a report from WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is testing a new feature. It shared screenshots that showcased a new menu that will let users customize their ‘Disappearing Messages.’ We can see that this menu offers options ranging from 90 days, 7 days, 24 hours, or just completely turning off the feature. Hence, offering users more flexibility and options to choose from. As of right now, this is in the Beta build version 2.21.17.16 that is available for Android.

WhatsApp has been working on several new features in the beta. It is also introducing a Smart Switch feature that will allow you to switch between Android and iOS. Previously, there was no way to move your chat history from one system to another. Now, you can use the Smart Switch feature to backup your chat history and files and transfer them to any new phone.

WhatsApp also recently introduced support for multiple devices on the web. You can use the service on multiple PC and laptop computers without having to mirror from your smartphone. You can now use the WhatsApp Web without your phone being connected to the internet.

Moreover, there is a new WhatsApp feature that allows users to jump into a voice or video call after the calls have begun. Just like other services like Google Meet and Zoom, people who miss the start of a group video conversation can join at any time during the call.
