WhatsApp to get Animated Stickers soon

WhatsApp is constantly working on adding new features and improving the old ones. Now, word is that the company is planning to add a new animated stickers feature to its Android and iOS based apps.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the blog that tracks developments in WhatsApp, the Animated Stickers feature consists of three parts. The first one is the possibility to view animated stickers. The users who are able to view animated stickers in their chats can save and send all the animated stickers that they have received.

The second part consists of the possibility to import animated stickers from third parties. And the third part consists to download default animated sticker packs from the WhatsApp Store.

The blog site says that the company has started rolling out the ability to view an animated sticker to select users. So, if you are able to view an animated sticker, you can save, star, send or forward it.

As far as the animated stickers are concerned, as of now they don’t work in a loop. However, it is possible that the company will allow looping animated stickers in the future. Alternatively, the company could offer a toggle switch to allow users view animated stickers in the way that they prefer.

It is worth noting that the new animated stickers feature is not available in WhatsApp’s main app yet. However, if you are using the company’s beta app, you should be able to access this feature by downloading the WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.20.194.7 or WhatsApp beta for iOS version 2.20.70.26 on your smartphones.
