Google launched a feature on its Google Assistant back in 2015, which lets you send WhatsApp messages without typing. The following year, Apple’s Siri introduced the same feature. With this, messages can be sent through a voice from third-party apps. To send messages without typing, you need to go to Settings on the Google app and then click on your profile photo on the right corner of Google Assistant. Further, scroll down to Personal Result and turn on this function.

Google requires you to say the wake word “Hey Google” to activate the Google Assistant. You can now say, “send a WhatsApp message to.” Following this, you will have to take the name of the person you want to message on WhatsApp. Google Assistant will ask you what message you want to send. Now, speak out aloud the message that you want to convey and it will be sent without you having to use your fingers at all to type. With this, you can send WhatsApp messages with the help of Google Assistant without typing.

What’s next on WhatsApp

A host of new WhatsApp features, such as Voice Waveforms, are expected to arrive in the coming months. The feature that is expected to arrive on the messaging app in the near term is called WhatsApp Voice Transcriptions feature. It will allow users to transcribe the contents of a voice message. WhatsApp users will be able to turn the content in the voice message into readable format. So, what a friend or family member has shared with the user in a voice message can be shared with others in a text format too.
