Xiaomi Redmi 6 series India launch: How to watch livestream, what to expect and more

Xiaomi will be launching a new Redmi smartphone series in India today. Based on the teasers and reports, Xiaomi is expected to introduce its Redmi 6 series.

Xiaomi's first teaser video highlighted the number 6 along with three phones where one has a notch display. This indicates the entry of Redmi 6 series comprising of Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones.

The company continued to tease its new Redmi series with focus on good camera and battery life. The company also confirmed that the new smartphones will feature dual 4G VoLTE for connectivity. Full specifications, features and pricing on the phones will be announced at the event today.

All three smartphones have been launched in China already. Xiaomi Redmi 6 Pro features a notch on its 5.84-inch Full HD+ display. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 625 processor paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.

For photography, Redmi 6 Pro has a dual-camera setup of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors. For selfies, there's a 5-megapixel snapper on the Redmi 6 Pro. Keeping the smartphone ticking is a 4,000mAh battery.

Xiaomi's Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones come with a similar set of specifications. Both phones have a 5.45-inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9, and a 3,000mAh battery. Redmi 6 offers two variants with 3GB+32GB and 4GB+64GB. Redmi 6A, on the other hand comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.

In the photography department, Redmi 6 has a 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel dual-camera setup. Redmi 6A has a single 13-megapixel camera at the rear. For selfies, both phones have a 5-megapixel camera.
