Instant messaging app WhatsApp is rolling out the first feature of the year that shows profile photos in system notification.As of now, the new WhatsApp feature is available for Apple iOS beta testers only and not for everybody. It will be rolled out to everyone once the bugs in it, if any, are removed. The new WhatsApp profile photo in notifications feature will enable users to see profile photos of the sender in system notifications.

WhatsApp development tracker WaBetaInfo has shared the info in its new blog post. The portal has even shared a screenshot of the same. According to the info shared by the portal, WhatsApp's new addition supports profile photos in notifications when you receive new messages from chats and groups. This feature has been released to some beta testers only on iOS 15 for now as it uses iOS 15 APIs.

WhatsApp is planning to activate this feature for more accounts soon. Since the feature is being tested for now, hence, the app may experience some issues adding profile photos to specific notifications.

Apart from this, the Meta-owned messaging app is likely to introduce many more features to give users a better experience. From adding message reactions with emojis, communities, transcribing voice memos, group admin's additional power to a new time limit to delete messages for everyone and in groups are coming this year.

The platform is constantly updated and the addition of new features will make it more convenient for users. The reactions with emojis in messages feature is likely to be integrated soon into WhatsApp. This feature will allow users to react to messages just like in Facebook Messenger and Instagram. Users wouldn't need to type something to respond to a message. However, putting emojis or stickers as photos of group chat will also be added in 2022. With the release of these features, users will be able to customize the profile photo of a group with stickers or emojis. It is speculated to arrive earlier than expected.

Not only these, the WhatsApp beta will also have advertisements within the application, due to the change from Facebook to Meta. The main idea of this feature is to monetize through this application.
