Google Pixel Fold could launch later this year; take a sneak peek
- The Google Pixel Fold is tipped to feature a 7.6-inch folding LTPO display technology from Samsung. It could offer a 120Hz refresh rate.
Google Pixel Fold is long rumoured to be on the cards. The Google foldable smartphone was tipped to be unveiled by the end of 2021 but later, reports claimed that it might launch this year. The latest leak reveals that Google could still launch the Pixel Fold by the end of this year. For those who want to know how it may look, then take a sneak peek.
If the rumours are to be believed, the Google Pixel Fold will be a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold-type smartphone that will unfold to offer a tablet-sized screen real-estate. There were also references to a device codenamed "Passport" - Pixel Fold's codename - in the Android 12 Beta.

The latest development comes from renowned tipster Evan Blass (@evleaks). He took to Twitter to say that the Google smartphone, which is codenamed Passport (and expected to be called the Pixel Fold) is tipped to be launched by the end of this year. He wrote, “Heard from someone I trust that the foldable Pixel -- codename: Passport, retail branding: unknown -- will indeed launch before the end of the year. Apparently they've been working on this device for over two years, and if the P6 is any indication, it'll be worth a look.”
The Google Pixel Fold is tipped to feature a 7.6-inch folding LTPO display technology from Samsung. It could offer a 120Hz refresh rate. There is no other concrete information related to the Pixel Fold as of now. However, it is likely to compete with the Galaxy Z Fold series. If the past is any indication, we should start getting more leaks and rumours for the upcoming Pixel smartphone, since Google isn't very good at keeping things under wraps till they are launched. Almost all Pixel smartphones from the past have leaked online before launch.
To recall, "Passport" has also been leaked previously, along with previous Android 12 beta and developer preview releases. If the rumours are to be believed, the Passport device (Pixel Fold) will be powered by the Google Tensor chip. Samsung is rumoured to be the manufacturer of the Google Tensor chip.
