Apple just killed off this iPhone feature in iPhone 15

5/5 With the release of iOS 15.4 beta version, Apple brought a new feature that enables Face ID unlocking even with a mask on. However all this information should be taken with a pinch of salt as it is based on speculation , and until we hear something from Apple officially, all of these features remain unconfirmed. iPhone 15 is apparently under development already and based on the rumours, there are two new features under consideration right from the get go. One of the rumoured features is the USB-C port, which will be the biggest change to the iPhone over the last decade. The second major upgrade under works is a new telephoto camera that will have a periscope lens arrangement for greater magnification. Note that these are just rumours and Apple is yet to reveal anything officially on the iPhone 14, let alone the iPhone 15 at the moment.

The information, that comes via AppleTrack, could make many potential iPhone 14 buyers wait for another year and get the iPhone 15 instead. These features, however, could be reserved for the iPhone 15 Pro, considering that Apple only gives the telephoto camera to the Pro variants. The USB-C port, however, could be applied to all the variants of the iPhone 15, given that the EU has decided to mandate the USB-C port for all phones starting 2024.

iPhone 15 goes under development already

Previous rumours have talked about the iPhone 15 getting most camera upgrades and the much-hyped USB-C port. Not much is known about it yet but we expect the leaks to start coming before the end of 2022.

Prior to that, it is the iPhone 14 that is expected to be announced by Sep 7, 2022. The iPhone 14 series will consist of a four model lineup as usual but there will be a new sized member. The 5.4-inch iPhone Mini will be replaced by the 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Max. This iPhone 14 Max will essentially be a larger sized version of the iPhone 14 with a bigger display and bigger battery. The rest of the specs are expected to remain the same.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are even expected to use the same A15 Bionic chip as the iPhone 13 Pro. The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max will get the new A16 Bionic chip that could offer more performance to exploit. The Pro variants are also expected to come with a new 48MP primary rear camera, a new LTPO display that gets rid of the infamous notch for a new pill-shaped camera cutout and support for new 30W wired charging.
