Samsung last month unveiled the Galaxy A42 5G touted to be its most affordable 5G smartphone. Samsung has now revealed the full specs of the Galaxy A42 5G.

Samsung announced the details of the Galaxy A42 5G through a press release, and an infographic. The smartphone has a notched display, and a patterned design at the rear. It comes in three colour options of Prism Dot Black, Prism Dot White and Prism Dot Gray. Samsung is yet to reveal the pricing and availability details of the Galaxy A42 5G.

In terms of specs, Galaxy A42 5G features a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core processor which hasn't been specified. It was rumoured though that the Galaxy A42 5G could run on the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor. It comes in three variants with 4GB, 6GB and 8GB of RAM. The smartphone has 128GB of internal storage that can be expanded up to 1TB.

On the Galaxy A42 5G, you get a quad-camera setup at the rear. The combination includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel depth sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, there's a 20-megapixel front camera.

The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. It also has an on-screen fingerprint sensor. Samsung hasn't announced the release date for the Galaxy A42 5G yet. But with the details all out it should happen soon. Samsung currently offers 5G connectivity on its flagship devices. Galaxy A42 would be the first affordable 5G smartphone from Samsung.
