Chandrayaan-4 mission
Collaborative Moon Mission: Japan and India have joined forces for a significant lunar exploration mission that is expected to launch in 2026 and it has been dubbed as Chandrayaan-4 mission, although the actual designation is the LUPEX project. This partnership, initiated in 2019 between the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has certain aims. The Chandrayaan-4 mission objectives include the exploration of the lunar south pole. As far as the process is concerned about who contributes what, then know that ISRO will construct the moon lander, while JAXA will oversee the Chandrayaan-4 mission launch and provide the lunar rover. Water Hunt on the Moon: The primary Chandrayaan-4 mission objective is to investigate the presence of water near the moon's south pole. The rover will be equipped with scientific instruments to autonomously search for water and even drill into the lunar surface to collect samples for analysis. (ISRO)

International Collaboration: In addition to Japan and India, other space agencies are contributing to the Chandrayaan-4 mission. NASA's Neutron Spectrometer will search for hydrogen below the moon's surface, while the European Space Agency's Exospheric Mass Spectrometer will assess gas pressure and chemical signatures on the lunar surface.
