Apple’s MagSafe Duo wireless charger is finally available, but not in India yet

Almost a month after it was announced, Apple’s MagSafe Duo wireless charger that can charge the iPhone and the Apple Watch at the same time, has finally gone on sale.

Apple's MagSafe Duo wireless charger has finally gone on sale in the US. Almost a month since the wireless charger was announced at the iPhone 12 event on October 13, customers in the US can buy the MagSafe Duo for $129 from the Apple Store online.

The MagSafe Duo is also listed on the Apple India Store for ₹13,900 but it is not available for sale yet.

The MagSafe Duo can charge both an iPhone and an Apple Watch at the same time. The charging pad that's used for the iPhone can be used to charge AirPods as well.

For customers buying the MagSafe Duo online in the US, the charger is going to ship in one business day and is available only in white with an EMI option of $10.75/month for 12 months.

For India, the MagSafe Duo is listed for ₹13,900 with an EMI option for ₹1,636/month.

The MagSafe Duo is compatible with iPhone 8 series and newer devices and all Apple Watch and AirPods models. However, the new magnetic alignment only works with the new iPhone 12 series devices.

Importantly, the MagSafe Duo does not come with an adapter that needs to be purchased separately. You can buy the 20W USB type-C power adaptor for faster wireless charging of up to 11W or a 27W (or higher) for 14W charging.

In the box, the MagSafe Duo only comes with one-metre long USB Type-C to Lightning Cable.

If you are not looking to invest in the MagSafe Duo, you can go for the MagSafe Charger that's available for ₹4,500 in India and for $39 in the US. This charger is up for sale in both countries and is compatible with all the devices the MagSafe Duo is compatible with.
