Facebook, Instagram introduce Durga Pujo-themed AR filters, stickers, and content
West Bengal’s top public figures and creators such as Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Bong Guy, Priyam Ghose, Indrani Biswas (Wonder Munna) will showcase their Pujo celebrations through FB Lives, posts, IG Stories and much more.
As the festive season inches closer, Facebook and Instagram have introduced new features and content programming to help users experience Durga Pujo virtually. These features include AR filters and stickers.
It also has Stories, Reels, Facebook posts and content on hashtags such as #DurgaPujo2020, #ShubhoMahalaya, #FBDurgaPujo, #IGDurgaPujo. Let's take a closer look at these new offerings from Facebook and Instagram.
New features
Facebook has introduced a new AR effect called “Pujaparikrama” which aims at delivering a virtual experience of the Pujo and pandal festive activities. Facebook users can click here to experience the AR effect while Instagram users can click here.
Another new AR effect is Durga Pujo. The filter allows you to switch between Maa Durga and an Asuram. You need to casually tilt your head to experience the AR effect. You can also use this effect to create Reels and Stories.
If you like GIFs, Facebook and Instagram for the first time have introduced special Durga Pujo-themed GIFs. You can search these GIFs by typing “Pujo”. You can create Instagram Stories and Reels using these GIFs.
New content programmes
Reels users can access Instagram's Reely Phataphati Pujo through hashtags such as #AmarPujoReel, #DurgaPujoReel, #FeelKaroReelKaro, #FeelItReelIt, #FeelKorboReelKorbo, #ReelyPhataphatiPujo, #PujoDekhechiReelKorechi, #PujoFeelershaateyReel, #PujoReelChallenge, #DurgaPujo2020, #ShubhoMahalaya, #FBDurgaPujo and #IGDurgaPujo.

Facebook has also confirmed top West Bengal public figures and content creators will showcase their Pujo celebrations virtually through FB lives, IG Stories, and other content formats. Some of the celebrities on board are Prosenjit Chatterjee, Jeet, Ritabhari Chakraborty, Bong Guy, Priyam Ghose, and Indrani Biswas (Wonder Munna).
