Google has announced two new features intended to enhance the listening experience with its recently launched Chromecast Audio.

Chromecast Audio allows users to connect speakers via wifi so they can play audio from streaming sites such as Spotify and Pandora.

The latest software update ups the ante by adding high-resolution audio support for a higher quality music playback -- up to 96KHz/24bit lossless audio playback.

Multi-room play is also possible with the new update, allowing users to group together several Chromecast Audio devices so the same thing plays on multiple speakers throughout their home.
