Reliance Jio will use Scanbok for faster SIM activations
Services such as JioPlay, Jio-on-Demand, JioBeats, JioMags, JioNews, JioDrive and JioExpressnews will offer all kinds of digital content from news, music, movies to cloud storage.
Reliance gave its employees the first wave of SIM cards to the upcoming Airtel and Vodafone competitor, Jio. While its expected to start making SIM cards available to the public in following months, a video of the Scanbok has been leaked.
The box is supposed to be used to upload a scanned copy of the SIM activation form and ID proofs to the cloud so that the connection can be activated much faster than it usual takes with the time-taking but inevitable procedure of document verification. These boxes and SIM cards are expected to be available at Reliance Digital stores across the country.
Earlier, the plans for the Jio network were revealed in a video following the announcement of Lyf smartphones from Reliance. According to reports, "As per the leaked video of Reliance Jio website, a JioFi Combo plan would offer 90 days validity with 75GB of 4G data, whereas the HD Voice Combo plan would offer the same 90 days validity, 75GB worth 4G data, 9,000 SMS and 4,500 minutes worth talktime. However, the video doesn't reveal the pricing of these plans."
But these aren't the only fronts that Reliance is pushing the Jio brands. Services such as JioPlay, Jio-on-Demand, JioBeats, JioMags, JioNews, JioDrive and JioExpressnews will offer all kinds of digital content from news, music, movies to cloud storage.
