Samsung finally rolls out Fortnite 90Hz support, only available on Tab S7, S7+ as of now

Fortnite fans have long sought support for 90Hz support for the mobile version. Despite Samsung launching 120Hz displays with S20 and Note 20 series, the popular battle royale game has not received the much-needed support. Now, Samsung has finally brought Fortnite at 90Hz to Galaxy devices. The catch, however, is that it is currently available only on Galaxy Tab S7 and S7 Plus, Samsung’s new premium tablets.

As Sammobile points out, Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 users can now play Fortnite at a frame rate of 90fps. The update is likely to bring smoother animations and richer visual information. According to the report, users will get up to 50% more information. To get started, Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 users need to update their Fortnite application.

“Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced today that starting October 13, 2020, Galaxy Tab S7 and Tab S7+ owners will be able to level up their Fortnite gameplay experience with up to incredibly fast 90 frames per second (fps). This improved frame rate will provide Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ Fortnite players their smoothest mobile gaming performance yet,” said Samsung in a post.

It may be recalled Samsung had teamed up with Epic Games to bring Fortnite to its Galaxy Store. The release came at a time when Epic Games’ Fortnite was removed from Google Play Store. The studio is already involved in a legal tussle with Apple over direct in-game payments system.

Epic Games suffered a big jolt as a federal judge in California last week ruled in an injunction request that Apple could prohibit the Fortnite game from its App Store. The judge, however, added that Apple must not harm Epic Games’ dev tools business which features Unreal Engine, a software that powers hundreds of other video games.
