Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S release date and prices revealed

There have been rumours for a while that Microsoft is working on two Xbox consoles to cover two different price points in the market. And according to a report by WindowsCentral, the pricing scheme of these two consoles should be very “familiar”, matching the older Xbox One X and Xbox One S.

The prices, at least of the Xbox Series S, has been confirmed by Microsoft officially. 

WindowsCentral sources have confirmed that the entry-level Xbox Series S will cost $299 ( ₹21,977 approx) at retail with a $25 ( ₹1,837 approx) per month Xbox All Access financing option. Microsoft is planning to push this all-access financing option via retailers and large global rollout plan. The more expensive Xbox Series X is expected to cost $499 ( ₹36,677 approx) with a $35 ( ₹2,572 approx) per month Xbox All Access financing option.

Both the Xbox Series S and the Xbox Series X should launch on November 10.

The Xbox Series S has leaked recently which gave fans a glimpse at the upcoming console and it looked like the entry-level model for this generation is small enough to fit inside an Xbox Series X. Speculations peg it to be around 4TF RDNA2 which should make it as powerful as the Xbox One X and it could be geared towards 1080p monitors with better frame rates. NVME drivers with newer next-gen features like ray tracing and fast resumption of multiple games is also expected.

On the other hand, the Xbox Series X is being pegged to be a 12TF “beast” that will come with 4K resolution and 60 FPS standard with some games (like Halo Infinite) and going up to 120 FPS for multiplayers.

At this point in time, now that Microsoft has revealed the prices of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, it’s Sony’s turn to respond with the new PlayStation’s prices.

It is also being speculated that Microsoft is going to push Xbox All Access financing more broadly that it has done before and the program should roll out to more markets globally. Expectations have it that the new Xbox Series consoles should see a global launch in all existing Xbox markets instead of a slow rollout.
