Apple's iMessage service suffered a widespread outage yesterday as users reported problems in sending and receiving messages.
Tech blog 9to5Mac put out a poll asking their followers 'if they are experiencing any iMessage outages and about 70 percent of the followers said they are having some sort of issue.'
Apple introduced iMessage as part of iOS 5 last October. It is a free and unlimited text messaging service for anyone texting over Wi-Fi using an iOS device or Mac with iMessage.
Following the outage, Apple users took to Twitter and Internet forums to vent their frustration.
The iMessage problem comes just a few days after Apple's iCloud service went down and millions of users were unable to access e-mail for a couple of days.
