Apple is going to announce new iPad Pro models, AirTags next month, says Jon Prosser

As far as Apple’s 2021 launches are concerned, the much-awaited Apple AirTags should be one of the first products to arrive. And leaks indicate that the first round of announcements could only be a few weeks away. According to YouTuber and tipster Jon Prosser, the Apple AirTags and brand new iPad Pro models are going to be announced next month, probably via a virtual event as it has been over 2020.

Prosser tweeted that the AirTags are “still on for March” and mentioned that he hasn’t heard of any “further delays” this time.

However, this is not the first time Prosser has brought up the topic of the AirTags. In October last year Prosser had said that the Apple AirTags were coming in November “for sure”. The November event for Apple was all about the Apple M1 Macs and there was no mention of the AirTags. Then Prosser had claimed that the AirTags would be released alongside iOS and iPad OS 14.3, but that did not happen either.

This March 2021 dateline is also something Prosser had tipped earlier for the AirTags, and given that Apple typically does not hold any events before March, his tip could be correct this time.

In another tweet following the one about AirTags, Prosser reiterated an older claim about updated iPad Pro models that are also potentially going to roll out in March this year. 

These new iPad Pro models have been rumoured for a while now and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had said they would probably release in the first half of 2021. This too aligns with Prosser’s March dateline. Though Prosser had claimed last year that the new iPad Pro models would be launched by the end of 2020, which didn’t happen.

Prosser has been pretty spot on with information about Apple in the past. He accurately reported the exact time and date for the iPhone SE 2020 launch that happened in April last year and was also correct about the 13-inch MacBook Pro in May and the updated iMac in August.

So far we know that the Apple AirTags are expected to come in different sizes and also sport replaceable batteries and work directly with Find My app on iOS, iPad OS and macOS.
