Apple Music concept imagines more social features

Apple had added features like real-time lyrics to Apple Music last year with iOS 13 and it has a feature that creates a playlist from what songs your friends and family are listening to. That's as social as things gets on the app. 

Now, a new concept imagines Apple Music with some more social features - like Listening Parties and Group Playlists.

The concept for this comes from Drew Morris who tweeted - “Today I realized two things: social distancing makes listening to music together more difficult, and Apple Music needs a refresh”.

“I made this concept in mind of addressing both these issues. Users want to understand their listening habits and they want to share their experiences,” Morris added.

Mind you, these are just concepts that Morris has created, Apple Music is not working on anything like this yet.

The core concept is a revamped system of profiles on the app and these revamped profiles, as imagined in this case, would offer data like listening habits, favourite albums etc.

One of the features imagined is a Group Playlist that allows you to create a playlist where your friends and family can also contribute. You will just have to share the playlist with people you want and they can add, rearrange songs.

There is also a Listening Party concept that will offer Apple Music users to broadcast music to family and friends through an invite. Others can listen to the same tracks you are, real time and if anyone else wants to collaborate, the host can allow them to pitch in on the tracklist.

Again, these are just concepts and Apple is not working on them, as far as we know. These are interesting additions that most would want to add to their Apple Music app because it gives you a chance to still bond over music while you practice social distancing.
