It's almost a year since 'Borderlands 2' released, but there's more content for the bonkers off-world shooter still to come, as the game's developer teases a second animated short for this week.
'A new short film set inside the world of Borderlands 2 is coming next week!' announced the Gearbox Software Twitter account on Friday, attaching a still and allowing speculation to begin.
Last time out, in May, a four minute affair called 'Krieg: A Meat Bicycle Built for Two' introduced viewers to the new character Krieg, a deranged bandit that ends up befriending one of the game's original main characters.
And if the first 'Borderlands' lifted its style from a nine minute animated short, 'Code Hunters,' then the franchise's new trailer format returns to the source material's format, adding its own brand of off-kilter humor in the process.
Already recipient of four expansion packs, two new characters, innumerable character costumes, and with further updates scheduled for this fall, 'Borderlands 2' was a real hit for developer Gearbox Software, the Plano, Texas studio which has since presided over the less favorably received 'Aliens: Colonial Marines,' while 'Furious 4' and a 'Homeworld' remake are in the works.
A PlayStation Vita version of 'Borderlands 2' was unveiled at Gamescom as part of Sony's media briefing.
