Build 2019: Microsoft Search is now available to all users

Microsoft Search, universal search engine for Microsoft applications and web, is now available to all users, the company announced at its Build 2019 developer conference.

Announced in September last year, Microsoft's universal search feature will appear across all Office 365 applications.

The search will show results from Bing, Office apps, Windows and even Teams for personal and productive usages. The universal search also aims to deliver personalised results by integrating traditional search results, commands, local files, and more.

"The collective knowledge of your organization is one of its most powerful tools, and Microsoft Search provides the ability to tap into it without leaving the flow of your work. You'll now find the Search box in the same prominent place across Microsoft 365 experiences you use daily, including such as Office, SharePoint, OneDrive, Outlook, Windows, and Bing," said the company in a release.

"And through a deep connection to the Microsoft Graph, Microsoft Search will help you discover relevant people, content, commands, and activities from across Microsoft 365 where and when you need them - from your desktop at work, to your mobile device when you're on the move," it added.

Microsoft Search leverages the company's Microsoft Graph, a developer platform that connects different services and devices. The platform also allows developers to bring cross-platform functionalities and seamless connectivity between Windows and non-Microsoft platforms like Android and iOS.
