Chadwick Boseman’s tweet hits record likes, a perfect tribute to the Black Panther actor

Chadwick Boseman, a popular American actor who is better known for playing the role of Black Panther in Marvel superhero movies, unfortunately passed away on August 28. He was suffering from Stage IV colon cancer since past few years. The news was made official via his Twitter account. The post included his smiling image and a message stating his condition and who he was with during his last moments.

Also revealed was how Marshall, Da 5 Bloods, August Wilson’s Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, all were filmed during and between the surgeries. While his demise is in itself a shock to some and a great loss to the movie industry, the particular tweet ended up making a record - a perfect tribute for the actor.

Twitter’s official handle retweeted the post made from Boseman’s account and confirmed that the post was the ‘most liked tweet ever’ on the microblogging website. Boseman’s tweet, at the time of writing, received some 6.4 million likes and 3 million retweets and comments. This comes in addition to the countless replies people have given on his tweet.

Other Twitter celebrities have also replied and retweeted Bosemans’s post, stating how good an actor and a human being he was and how much they loved working with him. From Mark Ruffalo to Halley Berry, Dwane Jhonson and official accounts of Star Wars, Doctor Who Official and more have retweeted the tweet, which probably propelled the traction within a day.

Marvel announced a 2022 release date for Black Panther 2 movie. However, due to the pandemic and with Boseman passing away, we may just see the movie being delayed by a few months along with a new actor taking his position in the superhero universe.
