Not all of us love reading spoilers for a movie or a show before we see it till the end. And when it comes to Marvel Cinematic Universe movies or shows, the craze is on a different level altogether. For now, we have the show ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ that is going on the Disney+ app. The series has six episodes, of which only three are out. However, of all the leaks and speculations, Apple's behind-the-scene Hollywood rule might be the reason for revealing the villain of the series or what you call ‘The Power Broker’' in the show.

So, how is Apple involved in spoiling the show?

Apple is not directly involved here, nor is any of its executives. The hint comes from filmmaker Rian Johnston, who in the past has directed movies like Knives Out, Looper and even Star Wars Episode VIII - The Last Jedi. Johnston, back in 2020, said in an interview to Vanity Fair (via Inverse) that Apple has a policy of not letting the ‘bad guys’ in the movie use iPhones. This means if you see a character in the movie using an iPhone, he is probably the good guy. It doesn’t matter if the rest are neutral or the bad guys.

“Apple, they let you use iPhones in movies—but, and this is very pivotal, if you’re ever watching a mystery movie, bad guys cannot have iPhones on camera,” Johnston said in the interview. “Every single filmmaker who has a bad guy in their movie that’s supposed to be a secret wants to murder me right now.”

Assuming what he says is true and applying that in ‘The Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ show, we may get an idea on who ‘The Power Broker’ is. TikTok user @3noracha states that since both Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson and Danny Ramirez’s Joaquin Torres are seen using iPhones in the show, it leaves Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter as one of the possible villain since she was seen using a non-Apple smartphone in one of the episodes. Carter, for now, is helping Sam Wilson fight the ‘Flag Smashers’ and find more about the ‘Power Broker’.

Although Apple's rule doesn’t really confirm anything, it does prove to be a compelling theory on who the secret character might be. So, you can sit back and enjoy the show or can revisit all three episodes to see who used an iPhone and who didn't.
