Google makes it easier to shop, search for jobs and recipes

You probably use Google Search for almost anything to everything. Google aims to make your Search experience better in three areas at least. These include shopping, jobs and recipes.

Google is updating its activity cards on Search and adding new features as well. Activity cards are used to help you pick up where you left off on Google Search. Based on your activity, Google will start showing products using the shopping activity card. For example, if you search for say the best headphones under 10k, Google will show activity cards of similar products you may have researched for before based on your user activity.

You’ll see these activity cards appear on top of the Search results. Each activity card will mention when you searched for that particular product. It’s similar to seeing ads for a product you search for on the web. But these activity cards will appear in a cleaner and more helpful way. This isn’t limited to only products you’ve searched for as Google will show similar products and deals.

For jobs, Google will show activity cards of job searches you performed recently. Google will update these job searches with new and relevant job postings. The activity cards will show the number of new job postings updated for that particular job search.

Similar for recipes, Google will make it easier for you to go through your past Search results. If you search for a particular recipe on Search, activity cards will display related or similar recipes you’ve already checked out before. This is helpful if you can’t remember that one recipe you used to cook a dish.

The new Google Search updates are rolling out today. If you don’t want to see these activity cards you can manage your activity through your Google account settings.
