RCS or Rich Communication Services is Google’s answer to Apple iMessage but it is still being refined and is yet to reach the masses. However, some users who have already received it, are now able to add and Apple iMessage-like reactions in RCS messages, as mentioned on Reddit (via Android Police). This feature was reportedly under tests since earlier this year.
From the images shared on Reddit, the emoji reactions in RCS appear in a small circle right below the messages. You can get the emoji options of sending a like, love, laughing, surprised, sad, angry and dislike by long pressing on the text message. This looks a lot like the reaction buttons you see in Facebook Messenger. It is not for sure if the emoji reactions are visible to only those who are chatting on RCS or for those who are on SMS as well.

It is worth adding that one of the Reddit members said he is witnessing the emoji reaction in RCS messages while using OnePlus 7 Pro on T-Mobile network.
That said, brands testing Google’s RCS is not a secret anymore. Recently, Samsung confirmed that it will bring Google’s Rich Communication Services (RCS) to Galaxy smartphones. It will be integrated in the Samsung Messages app. The smartphone maker is also bringing monthly and quarterly security updates to Galaxy devices. “These include Google’s patches for Android, and Samsung’s patches for vulnerabilities and exposures.”
We can expect more brands (now OnePlus) to bring this in future.
