Google Search shares tips to cope with stress amid pandemic

The Covid-19 cases are mounting globally. The total number of cases has crossed the 6 lakh mark in India and 10 million mark globally. To top it off, our healthcare systems are strained and millions of people across various industries have lost their jobs. Needless to say that these stressful times. Amid the pandemic, Google has shared tips to help cope with the stress.

The company is highlighting these tips on its Search homepage under the Google Search and I’m Feeling Lucky button. The Google Search homepage in India shows the message “Be kind to your mind. Tips to cope with stress during COVID-19” next to a green ribbon. On clicking on the connected link, users are directed to a Search page that has resources from various organisations such as the World Health Organisation (WHO)and the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) that are aimed at helping people to deal with stress and other mental health issues that they might encounter due to the pandemic.

The page also highlights a public service announcement by the Indian’s government’s Ministry of Health and Family Welfare which contains tips to deal with the stress. This includes steps like focusing on your breathing, taking breaks from Covid-19 related content, taking time to relax and exercise, staying connected with friends and family and seeking professional help if needed, something Google has also highlighted in the past via its official Twitter handle.

On clicking on the More Info button, users are directed to the website of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare that not only contain latest updates regarding the steps that the government is taking to combat the virus and material to create awareness among the people at large, but it also contains details pertaining to various facets to tackle the outbreak such as travel advisory, workplace and hotel guidelines and healthcare training material among other things.
