Autofill is usually enabled by default, but you can disable it manually for obvious privacy reasons. Here’s how you can disable or turn off the autofill feature in Google Chrome:

Turn Off Google Chrome Autofill on Desktop (Windows, Mac, and Linux) this way

Supplies
30 Minutes
  • Smartphone
  • Laptop
  • Updated browser
  • Internet
Step 1:

First, open Google Chrome on your computer/mobile and click on the three-dot menu button at the top-right corner. There, go to “Settings” tab. You can also go to the Settings directly by searching for chrome://settings in the Chrome address bar.

Step 2:

In the Settings window, find the “Auto-fill” option, and disable autofill individually for all the three categories — Passwords, Payment methods, & Addresses and more.

Step 3:

To turn off autofill for passwords, click on “Passwords” and switch off the toggle next to “Offer to save passwords”. Also, toggle off the “Auto sign-in” option if it isn’t turned off already. Once done, your browser will no longer automatically sign you into websites using stored credentials.

Step 4:

For details, tap on “Payment methods” section under Auto-fill in Chrome and repeat the process as you did for passwords.

Step 5:

The same process would be repeated for “Addresses and more” as well. After you disable all the three autofill option in Google Chrome, it will no longer fill any information or passwords in any forms on your computer/ mobile in the future.
