Xiaomi reportedly working on three new tablets with Snapdragon 8xx SoCs, may be the Mi Pad 5 series

Xiaomi has not been a big player when it comes to the tablet market. The majority of the share is taken by Apple and Samsung right now. But the Chinese tech firm seems to be in no mood to kill the segment completely as it is being rumoured to be working on some new tablets. As mentioned in the Xiaomiui Telegram group (via Android Authority), the firm is reportedly working on three tablets right now that have model numbers - K81, K81A, and K82 and codenames Enuma, Elish and Nabu respectively.

These could also be the successor of Mi Pad 4, which came out back in 2018, and might be called Mi Pad 5 series.

Also mentioned is that these three are expected to feature quad rear camera setups that may include a primary sensor, ultra-wide, macro and depth sensor. It may also have wireless charging along with some other features like quad speakers, NFC and 120Hz refresh rate IPS screens. Also rumoured is the screen resolution of 2,560 x 1,800 pixels.

Out of these three, the K81 and K81A are said to feature Qualcomm;s recently launched Snapdragon 870 chipset. This means the tablets might deliver a near-flagship performance since the chipset falls in the same, premium Snapdragon 8xx series. The K81 is additionally said to have a 48-megapixel primary camera as compared to K81A’s 12-megapixel sensor.

The K82 could be a slightly less powerful device with the Snapdragon 860 chipset. It may also feature a 12-megapixel camera at the back.

Although these are just rumours and speculations, they do fall in line with the recent leaks posted by tipster Digital Chat Station. Besides mentioning a high refresh rate and Snapdragon 8xx series chipset, the tipster added that Mi Pad 5 could have an 11-inch screen size as well.
