Volunteers at the North American Aerospace Defense Command are monitoring Santa Claus as he makes his storybook Christmas Eve flight. So far, NORAD says it used the heat signature from Rudolph's nose to track him over Sydney and later Russia. And this year, technology and social media have become an important part of the U.S. and Canadian military tradition.'It's our 59th year of tracking Santa and we have nearly 1,300 volunteers that are on the phones, answering the social media as children want to check where Santa happens to be, what he eats, how are the reindeer,' said NORAD commander, Admiral Bill Gortney.
