Google's next version of its Android operating system will boast new ways to fetch information, pay merchants and protect privacy on mobile devices. The Android M operating system will include an alternative named Android Pay to the mobile payment system that Apple introduced last fall. Google is hoping that a new feature called 'Now on Tap' will provide Android users with improved search efficiency. Google also made announcements about increasing the number of apps for Android smart watches and compatibility of Google Cardboard with GoPro's new multi-camera rig. Most of the renovations unveiled Thursday at Google's I/O annual developers' conference won't be available until later this year.
