Gionee has launched a new smartphone with a 5,100mAh battery. Called Gionee M12, the phone is available in two versions – one with MediaTek Helio P22 and another with MediaTek Helio A25. The phone is available via Nigeria online for NGN 69,400 ( ₹13, 300 approximately) for the A25 variant. The P22 version is available for a starting price of NGN 75,000 ( ₹14,000 approximately).
Gionee M12 comes with a large 6.55-inch display with LCD panel and HD+ resolution. The display houses a punch-hole cutout to house a 16-megapixel front-facing camera. On the back, it has a quad-camera setup. The configuration includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and two 2-megapixel sensors.

For performance, Gionee M12 relies upon MediaTek's Helio P22 and A25 SoCs, with 4GB+64GB and 6GB+128GB RAM and storage combinations, respectively. On the software front, it runs on Android 10 out-of-the-box.
A 5,100mAh battery powers the phone. It supports 10W charging. In terms of connectivity, Gionee M12 has USB Type-C, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and an FM radio. The phone also comes with dual-SIM functionality and LTE support.

Right now, there is no word on the availability of the phone in markets outside Nigeria. If launched in India, it would compete with the likes of Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 series and Realme Narzo.
