In Delhi NCR and other big cities, the iPhone 14 Pro has run out of stocks. (Amritanshu / HT Tech)

iPhone 14 Pro is witnessing a huge surge in demand in India. The flagship iPhone 14 variant, which was announced in September 2022, is witnessing a huge demand across the world. People are willing to spend more for the Pro variant instead of the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus variants. In Delhi NCR and other big cities, the iPhone 14 Pro has run out of stocks and Apple is struggling to meet the demands for the Pro variants.

In fact, the situation is such that the Minister of State For Electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar had to speak to Apple to check on the status of the handset. "I have spoken with Apple and they have said while iPhone14 demand is being met also with India production, the iPhone14 Pro demand has surged and is facing supply constraints which they are addressing," he said in a latest tweet. This was in response to complaints from stores who were not getting the stocks and were losing out to private sellers.

iPhone 14 Pro demand outweighs stocks

The iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are seeing a huge surge in demand. In fact, the latest report from Trendforce suggests that Apple is cutting the production of the iPhone 14 Plus and asking its vendors to bump up the production of the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Sales of the iPhone 14 Pro series have increased to 60 percent of the total output from the previously planned 50 percent, and there is a possibility that it could rise to 65 percent in the future.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

The huge demand exists for these phones despite the higher price tag. The iPhone 14 Pro starts at Rs. 129,900 in India whereas the iPhone 14 Pro Max starts at Rs. 139,900. Hence, these are some of the most expensive smartphones one can buy in India, in addition to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4.

The iPhone 14 Pro series brings in several new features such as a new front design that ditches the notch in favour of a Dynamic Island, a new 48MP rear camera, a new A16 Bionic chipset, and an overall better performance. These phones also get an Always On display feature, which is made possible by the ProMotion display with a varying refresh rate of 1Hz to 120Hz.
