Realme teases 108-megapixel camera on its next phone in India

The company has already confirmed the Realme 8 Pro will feature a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary camera sensor.

Realme will launch a new smartphone in India later this month. Ahead of the official launch, Realme in a teaser confirmed the phone would feature a 108-megapixel camera. The new handset is likely to be part of the upcoming Realme 8 series, expected to launch on March 24.

Earlier this month, Realme at its Camera Innovation event had said Realme 8 Pro feature a 108-megapixel Samsung HM2 primary camera sensor. It is worth noting that the camera sensor is also available on Xiaomi's popular Mi 10i smartphone.

Apart from the 108-megapixel camera, you can also expect the Realme 8 series to offer a new in-sensor zoom technology, which is said to deliver an improved 3x zoom technology.

As far as the Realme 8 series go, the new lineup has leaked multiple times in the past. According to a recent Geekbench listing, one of the Realme 8 variants will come with MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor coupled with 8GB of RAM. It further reveals the Android 10 OS out-of-the-box and 65W fast charging support. The company is also likely to launch 5G and 4G versions.

Realme has also confirmed the non-Pro model in the new lineup will house a 5,000mAh battery with 30W Dart Charge tech. The 4G model is also rumoured to come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G processor.

Apart from the new lineup, Realme is also working on a new variant of its latest Realme GT. Dubbed as the Realme GT Neo, the phone will run on MediaTek's 1200 processor.

Realme recently launched the C21 budget smartphone. The phone has a 6.5-inch HD+ (720x1600 pixels) LCD screen, along with an 89.5% screen to body ratio. It runs on Android 10 based Realme UI. A MediaTek Helio G35 processor powers the phone. The phone ships with 3GB of RAM with 32GB inbuilt storage. Realme C21 is available in select markets for 8,900 approximately.
