Redmi 6A explosion took a woman's life? Xiaomi reacts

A YouTuber claimed that his aunt died due to the explosion of the Redmi 6A smartphone. Here is what happened.

In a tragic incident, a woman allegedly died due to the explosion of a Redmi smartphone, a report has indicated. At least this is what the victim's relative says. A YouTuber named MD Talk YT (Manjeet) took to Twitter to narrate the dreadful story of a Redmi 6A smartphone reportedly exploding and killing his aunt in the Delhi-NCR region. The Tweet explains that his aunt kept it near her face while sleeping. Later, it exploded and took her life.

"Yesterday in Night my Aunty was found dead 😭, she was using a Redmi 6A, she was sleeping & she kept the phone near her face on the pillow side & after some time her phone blast. It's a bad time for us. It's a responsibility of a brand to support (sic),” MD Talk YT (Manjeet) tweet reads. Along with the complaint, he also shared some pictures of the smartphone's condition after the explosion and a dreadful photo showing a woman lying on a bed surrounded by blood.

In another tweet, the YouTuber says, “Her family is so simple, her son is in the Indian Army. They don't know so much. She only uses her phone just for calling & watching YouTube. Now if brand didn't accept their mistakes, don't take responsibility directly, if a family has to fight for justice then what's the use .”

Xiaomi responded..

On the same tweet thread, Xiaomi India's Twitter account responded. It says, “At Xiaomi India, customer safety is of utmost importance and we take such matters extremely seriously. At this point, our team is trying to get in touch with the affected family, and determine the cause of the incident.”

However, this is not the first time, when such cases cases came to light, causing injuries to the victim. It is still unclear what caused the explosion. HT Tech reached out to Xiaomi for reaction. This article will be updated as soon as an official response is received.
