Xiaomi to launch Mi 11 Youth Edition at its March 29 event
The Mi 11 Youth Edition is said to be one of the first smartphones to run Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 780 5G processor.
Xiaomi will launch Mi 11 Youth Edition at its March 29 event in China alongside other new devices such as Mi 11 Pro and Mi 11 Ultra, Mi Band 6, and a new Mi Mix, reports Gizmochina.
According to the report, Xiaomi will offer Mi 11 Lite with 4G and 5G versions. The 5G version is said to be released as the Mi 11 Youth Edition. The smartphone is rumoured to come with Snapdragon 780 5G processor, which Qualcomm recently announced. The Mi 11 Youth Edition could be the first handset to have the new Snapdragon chip.
Xiaomi CC Product manager Wei has confirmed that Mi 11 Youth Edition will be 6.81mm thin, making it one of the slimmest 5G phones. The report points out that the phone may skip a 3.5mm headphone jack but retains a MicroSD card slot for expandable storage.
As far as specifications go, Mi 11 Youth Edition will come with a 6.55-inch display with an AMOLED panel and full HD+ resolution. The screen also has a 90Hz refresh rate. There's a punch-hole cutout in the front to house a 20-megapixel selfie camera.

The handset is said to come with at least three sensors on the back. The setup will consist of a 64-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel ultrawide sensor, and a 5-megapixel macro sensor. Apart from Snapdragon 780 5G chip, the phone will have up to 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB built-in storage. A 4,250mAh battery will power the phone. It will also come with a 33W fast charging.
Other leaked specifications of the handset are an in-display fingerprint sensor, MIUI 12 (based on Android 11), and a MicroSD slot. The phone would be available in Truffle Black, Citrus Yellow, and Mint Green colours.
That said, there is no word on the availability of the specific Mi 11 Youth Edition in other markets. Xiaomi is gearing up for the roll-out of the Mi 11 series in India. Reports suggest Xiaomi will introduce Mi 11, Mi 11 Ultra and Mi 11 Pro in India.
